The world cup event 1997 on Lake Silvaplana was quite an interesting happening, even though the wind didn't blow strong enough to perform regular races. In summer time the famous Maloja wind is expected to blow as often as the sun shines, however, always changing weather conditions caused to cease this thermal wind machinery. Nevertheless, everybody wanted to see the world cup stars from very close and could do so there.
